NARRATIVE:  As expected, the climb up to Orisson was tough. It took us two hours. I think we stayed there around 45 min. We met a fellow Mexican from Monterrey but he lives in Texas, so I don't think it counts. The climb to the virgin became harder and harder because the wind really picked up. For the rest of the day it felt like 2 steps forward then 1 step back. At around 16 km was the food truck, which is always a welcome sight. He said he's there (or his son) everyday until 13:00, sometimes until 14:00. After the truck, just 1km more of uphill.

I bid France adieu at the Navarre monument - at least until September when I return for three weeks on the Le Puy. Can't seem to get enough of that route.

We took refuge in the refuge from the wind to eat our lunch. Once we blocked the door open, we were soon joined by several others. Too bad that people before us left their trash, and some clothes. Bizarre.

We had sent one bag with Bourricot with all our stuff and it was there, patiently waiting for us. Super glad we did. My hip started really bothering me (nothing that some good ibuprofen won't solve) and Tere is having foot pain. Bummer!

Roncesvalles seems a lot less organized than last year. We stood outside in line in the chilly wind for two hours. While we were finally being helped, the dude answered the phone several times. We're up on the third floor, which means no bunk beds. Yeah!!!!

So, apparently my GPS watch is working. It just takes a day for it to show up. And, I think I need to add pictures later. It takes forever to load them. I was abke to get thus photo to work. I remember these guys from last year!
